Calcium before workouts may boost bone strength in veterans
NCT ID NCT05029128
First seen Jan 10, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 15 times
Summary
This study tested whether taking calcium before exercise can help bones respond better to workouts. Blood calcium drops during exercise, and the body pulls calcium from bones to compensate, which may reduce the bone-building benefits of exercise. Researchers studied 18 Veterans to see if pre-exercise calcium could prevent this drop and improve bone health markers.
