First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 25 times

Summary

This study looks at how different calcium levels in the blood affect a drug called carbetocin, which is used to prevent severe bleeding after a C-section. Researchers will take small samples of uterine muscle from 40 women having planned C-sections and test the muscle's contractions in the lab. The goal is to find out if normal calcium levels help the drug work better, which could lead to safer treatments for postpartum hemorrhage.
