Lab test aims to Fine-Tune drug for preventing deadly Post-Birth bleeding

NCT ID NCT06930391

Summary

This is a laboratory study using donated uterine tissue to understand how calcium levels in the blood affect a key drug (carbetocin) used to prevent severe bleeding after a C-section. Researchers will test the drug's effectiveness under different calcium conditions to see if adjusting calcium could make the treatment work better. The goal is to gather knowledge that could lead to improved strategies for preventing and treating this serious childbirth complication.
