First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 11, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study tests whether giving caffeine early to premature babies (born before 32 weeks) can prevent acute kidney injury. About 236 newborns will be randomly assigned to receive either caffeine or standard supportive care within hours of birth. The goal is to see if caffeine reduces kidney damage, shortens hospital stays, and improves survival.
