Coffee vs. gum: which caffeine burns more fat during your workout?

NCT ID NCT07402902

First seen Feb 17, 2026 · Last updated Apr 10, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study aims to understand if the way you take caffeine—like in a capsule, coffee, chewing gum, or as a mouth rinse—changes how much fat your body burns during exercise. Researchers will have 10 healthy adults who exercise regularly complete eight cycling sessions, each with a different caffeine or placebo form, to measure fat burning and energy use. The goal is to gather knowledge about caffeine's effects, not to treat any medical condition.
