Caffeine boost: preterm infants may eat faster with extended therapy

NCT ID NCT06327152

First seen Nov 10, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study looks at whether giving caffeine to preterm babies for a longer time helps them learn to bottle-feed or breastfeed fully. About 80 infants born at 32 weeks or earlier will take part. The goal is to see if extended caffeine use reduces the time to reach full oral feeding and shortens hospital stays.
