Coffee for newborns? study tests Caffeine's heart effects on premature babies

NCT ID NCT07274969

Summary

This study aims to understand how caffeine therapy affects the heart and blood pressure of premature babies being treated for breathing pauses. It will closely monitor 40 preterm infants in a neonatal intensive care unit who are already receiving standard caffeine treatment. Researchers will track changes in heart rate, blood pressure, and blood flow to see if caffeine helps stabilize their cardiovascular system.
