Coffee for babies? caffeine trial aims to ease newborn breathing struggle

NCT ID NCT06972108

Summary

This study is testing whether caffeine can help newborns with meconium aspiration syndrome breathe better and need less oxygen support. It will involve about 20 babies who are 10-14 days old and still need some breathing help. Researchers will measure oxygen levels and use lung ultrasounds to see if caffeine improves breathing effort and lung function.
