Cadaver lab boosts needle safety for physiotherapists?

NCT ID NCT06845969

First seen May 08, 2026 · Last updated May 08, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether a hands-on anatomy review using cadaver materials helps physiotherapists place dry needling needles more accurately and safely. Sixty licensed physiotherapists will needle three muscles, then be randomly assigned to either a cadaver anatomy class or an online course not related to anatomy. After training, they will needle the same muscles again, and researchers will measure needle placement accuracy and distance from risky structures like lungs. The goal is to see if cadaver review reduces dangerous needle placements.
