New device aims to curb dangerous bleeding in heart surgery patients on blood thinners

Summary

This study tests a device called CA330 that is used during heart surgery to filter the blood. The goal is to see if it can lower the risk of severe bleeding in patients who take blood thinners and need emergency heart surgery. About 120 adults will be randomly assigned to receive either the CA330 device or standard care. Researchers will track bleeding events, blood transfusions, and recovery.
