New device aims to stop dangerous bleeding in emergency heart ops
NCT ID NCT07284199
Summary
This study is testing a device called the CA330, which acts like a filter in the heart-lung machine. It aims to reduce severe bleeding in patients who need urgent heart surgery but are also taking blood-thinning medications. Researchers will compare surgery using the filter to standard surgery to see if it leads to less bleeding, fewer blood transfusions, and better recovery.
