Study tests which surgical cleaner best prevents C-Section infections

NCT ID NCT05920122

Summary

This study compared two different skin-cleaning solutions used before cesarean sections to see which one better prevents wound infections. Researchers randomly assigned 1,398 women having C-sections to receive either a water-based chlorhexidine solution or an alcohol-based chlorhexidine solution. The main goal was to see which preparation led to fewer infections and was more cost-effective for hospitals and patients.
