NCT ID NCT06511401

First seen May 09, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study looks at whether checking a person's genes before prescribing painkillers can lead to better pain control and fewer medication changes. About 800 cancer patients who are expected to need opioids will be randomly assigned to receive genetic testing or usual care. The goal is to see if personalized prescribing based on genetics improves pain scores and reduces the need to switch medications.
