First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 30 times

Summary

This study tested a new device called C-MIC that delivers very small electrical currents directly to the heart muscle. It included 70 people with advanced heart failure (NYHA class III-IV) whose hearts were pumping at only 25-35% of normal. Half received the device plus standard medications, while the other half received only medications. The goal was to see if the device could improve the heart's pumping ability over 6 months.
