First seen May 03, 2026 · Last updated May 09, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study looks at blood samples from 1,000 former U.S. service members who were exposed to burn pits during deployment, comparing them to unexposed veterans. The goal is to find biological signs of how burn pit smoke affects the body, which could lead to better ways to detect and treat related health problems. Participants give a one-time blood sample and fill out health questionnaires.
