Tracking hidden fluid in burn victims to prevent deadly overload

NCT ID NCT06469970

Summary

This study aims to better understand how fluids spread inside the body of adults with severe burns during their first four days in intensive care. Researchers will measure a specific fluid volume using a simple glucose injection to see if it can help doctors give the right amount of IV fluids. Finding the right balance is critical because too little fluid can lead to organ failure, while too much can cause severe swelling and other life-threatening complications.
