New approach aims to get addiction treatment to parolees faster

Summary
This study is testing if starting medication treatment for opioid addiction right at a probation or parole office helps people more than just giving them a referral to a community clinic. It will involve 320 adults on probation or parole in Baltimore who have opioid addiction. The main goal is to see if this faster start to treatment leads to less illicit opioid use and helps people stay in care longer.
