New hope for kids with colitis: steroid pill aims to calm Flare-Ups

Summary

This study tests a steroid pill (budesonide) in children aged 5 to 17 with mild to moderate ulcerative colitis, a bowel disease causing bleeding and diarrhea. The goal is to see if the pill can safely bring the disease into remission within 56 days. Participants may continue their usual medications. The study is placebo-controlled, meaning some children will receive a dummy pill for comparison.
