Can ancient practices beat modern insomnia? study pits buddhist training against qigong

NCT ID NCT06910423

Summary

This study aims to see if two different mind-body practices can help people with insomnia sleep better. Researchers will compare a Mahayana Buddhist Awareness Training program, which focuses on mental exercises, with Qigong, a gentle movement practice. They will measure changes in sleep quality, brain activity, and heart rate in 86 adults from Hong Kong to understand how each approach works.
