New pacemaker strategy could cut heart failure deaths after valve surgery

NCT ID NCT07434193

First seen Feb 25, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a special pacemaker, called cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT), can help people with heart failure who develop a heart block after a minimally invasive aortic valve replacement (TAVI). About 360 participants will be randomly assigned to get the pacemaker or standard care. The goal is to see if the pacemaker reduces hospitalizations and deaths related to heart failure over one year.
