Scientists use cold and new imaging to probe diabetes link to 'Good Fat'

NCT ID NCT05092945

Summary

This small, completed study aimed to better understand how brown fat, a type of 'good' body fat that burns calories for heat, works in people with type 2 diabetes. Researchers used cold exposure and advanced medical scans on a small group of people with and without diabetes to measure brown fat activity more accurately than before. The goal was to gather basic knowledge about brown fat's role in metabolism, not to test a treatment.
