New microwave tool could zap lung tumors without cutting

Summary

This study tests a new medical device that uses microwave energy to heat and destroy lung cancer tumors. The goal is to see if it is safe and works well. Up to 18 people who are already scheduled for lung surgery will receive this extra procedure first. If successful, this approach might allow future patients to avoid surgery for certain lung tumors.
