Do baby chest colds lead to childhood asthma? study tracks tiny lungs

NCT ID NCT00676351

Summary

This study aimed to understand if having bronchiolitis, a common chest infection, as an infant increases the chance of developing asthma by age three. Researchers followed 29 babies who had bronchiolitis, testing their lung function and checking for allergies several times over three years. The goal was to gather knowledge about the long-term effects of early respiratory infections, not to provide a treatment.
