New shingles drug trial aims to stop the lingering pain

Summary
This study is comparing two antiviral medications, Brivudine and Famciclovir, to see which one works better for treating shingles. It will involve 140 adults with active shingles and will measure how well each drug reduces pain and helps the rash heal. The main goal is to see which treatment is more effective at relieving pain one month after starting.
