New light device aims to take guesswork out of epidural needle placement

Summary

This study tests a new device called BrightPoint that uses light to help doctors confirm they have placed an epidural needle in the right spot during lumbar spine surgery. About 36 adults having spine surgery will take part. Doctors will use the device alongside the standard method and report whether the light signal matches their usual technique.
