New drug could boost stroke recovery when given before clot removal

NCT ID NCT07389460

First seen Feb 05, 2026 · Last updated Jun 10, 2026 · Updated 17 times

Summary

This study tests whether giving a clot-dissolving drug (rhPro-UK) before standard clot removal helps people who had a stroke up to 24 hours earlier. About 820 participants will receive either the drug or a placebo, and researchers will check if they can live independently after 90 days. The goal is to improve blood flow and recovery without causing dangerous bleeding in the brain.
