Blood test guides second round of targeted therapy for tough colorectal cancer

NCT ID NCT06578559

First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study tests whether people with a specific type of advanced colorectal cancer (BRAF V600E mutation) can benefit from a second round of a targeted drug combination (encorafenib plus cetuximab). Only patients who previously responded well to the same drugs are eligible, and a blood test is used to confirm the cancer still has the right genetic markers. The goal is to see how many patients have tumor shrinkage, while monitoring safety and how long the benefit lasts.
