Breathe through the pain? study tests if calm breathing can replace numbing shots
NCT ID NCT07172984
Summary
This study is testing if a simple breathing exercise can work as well as a numbing shot to reduce pain during joint injections for conditions like arthritis. Researchers will compare pain levels in two groups: one gets a standard numbing shot, and the other learns a special breathing technique. The goal is to see if the breathing method is not worse than the shot for managing procedure pain and anxiety.
