Can simple breathing beat a needle? study tests new pain relief for joint injections
NCT ID NCT07172984
Summary
This study is testing if a simple breathing exercise can reduce pain as effectively as a standard numbing shot for people getting injections in their joints (like the shoulder or knee). Researchers will compare two groups: one gets the usual local anesthetic, and the other learns a specific breathing technique before the injection. The main goal is to see if the breathing method is not worse than the shot at managing pain and anxiety during the procedure.
