New breathing tube tool for babies put to the test

NCT ID NCT07351227

Summary

This study aims to see if a newer, less-studied video scope (BESDATA BD-DF) works as well as a more common one (McGRATH MAC) for safely placing a breathing tube in infants and young children during surgery. Researchers will compare how often each device succeeds on the first try, the time it takes, any complications, and the overall costs. About 226 children aged 6 months to 3 years having elective surgery will be randomly assigned to have their breathing tube placed using one of the two devices.
