Can simple breathing stop PTSD before it starts?
NCT ID NCT04701723
Summary
This study is testing whether a breathing training program called 'cardiac coherence' can help prevent people from developing long-term PTSD after a recent traumatic event. It involves 44 people in France who have just experienced trauma and are showing acute stress. Participants learn the breathing technique and use a smartphone app to practice, with researchers checking if they develop PTSD three months later.
