New breathing exercises tested to help COPD patients breathe easier
NCT ID NCT01545011
Summary
This study tested whether adding specific breathing muscle training to standard pulmonary rehabilitation helps reduce shortness of breath in people with COPD more than rehabilitation alone. Researchers worked with 38 hospitalized COPD patients who had normal breathing muscle strength. They compared two groups: one received standard rehab plus breathing muscle training, while the other received only standard rehab.
