Cuddly 'Breathing' dog toy slashes pain and tears for kids getting needles
NCT ID NCT07430514
Summary
This study tested if a special toy that looks and sounds like it's breathing could help reduce pain and fear in young children getting a blood test. Eighty children, aged 1 to 3, were randomly given either the breathing toy to hold or received standard care during the procedure. The results showed the toy significantly reduced pain scores, crying time, and even parents' anxiety, offering a simple, drug-free way to make a common medical procedure less distressing.
