First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study tested a breathing exercise called the Active Cycle Breathing Technique in 120 adults who had just had heart surgery. The exercise combines gentle breathing control, deep breaths, and controlled coughing or huffing. Researchers wanted to see if it could improve breathing, reduce pain, and lessen fear of shortness of breath. Results may help patients recover more comfortably after cardiac surgery.
