Doctors seek better way to predict when breathing masks fail
NCT ID NCT07178483
Summary
This study aims to better understand patients with severe pneumonia who are using a breathing mask instead of a breathing tube. Researchers will measure patients' energy use, body composition, and blood markers to identify patterns. The goal is to predict which patients are likely to need a breathing tube later, so doctors can personalize their care sooner.
