Study tests gentler breathing help for tiniest babies
NCT ID NCT04698473
Summary
This study aimed to find the best way to support breathing in very premature babies with respiratory distress syndrome. It compared two non-invasive methods (NIPPV vs. CPAP) used while giving a lung medication called surfactant. The main goal was to see which method was more effective at preventing the need for a mechanical ventilator within the first 72 hours.
