Breathing machine settings may change kidney stone surgery outcomes
NCT ID NCT07304297
First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 25 times
Summary
This study looked at 70 adults having kidney stone surgery to see if the amount of air given by the breathing machine (tidal volume) affects how the surgery goes. Patients were split into two groups: low tidal volume (less than 500 mL) or standard tidal volume (500 mL or more). The researchers measured surgery time, laser use, stone removal success, and complications. The goal was to find out if adjusting breathing settings can improve surgery results.
