Summary

This study looks at how people with chronic lung diseases like COPD and asthma experience shortness of breath. Some feel severe distress with mild breathing problems, while others notice little even when lung function is poor. Researchers will group participants based on this perception and other traits, using questionnaires, lung tests, and brain scans. No new treatments are given—the goal is to better understand these conditions to improve future care.
