New breathing device could speed up COPD recovery for veterans

Summary

This study tests if a special breathing device can help Veterans with COPD improve their breathing and exercise ability faster during pulmonary rehab and keep those benefits longer. About 120 Veterans will be randomly assigned to use either the real device or a sham device that does nothing. Researchers will track symptoms, daily steps, and exercise capacity over one year to see if the device makes a real difference.
