First seen Jul 06, 2026 · Last updated Jul 10, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This trial investigates whether adding diaphragmatic breathing and electroacupuncture to standard physiotherapy can better relieve chronic neck pain, improve posture, and reduce disability. Seventy-two adults with at least three months of neck pain and poor breathing patterns will be randomly assigned to receive either physiotherapy plus simple breathing and electroacupuncture, or physiotherapy plus focused diaphragmatic breathing and electroacupuncture. The study measures pain, neck function, and head-forward posture over the treatment period.

- Active substance
- electroacupuncture
- What this could lead to
- If it works, this could offer a simple, drug-free way to reduce chronic neck pain and improve posture.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small, early-stage trial with 72 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The added benefit of breathing and acupuncture over physiotherapy alone may be small.
