BREATH study: simpler inhaler technique could boost COPD drug effectiveness

NCT ID NCT05381415

First seen May 06, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study looks at whether people with COPD get more benefit from their bronchodilator medication when they inhale it at a normal, relaxed lung volume instead of after breathing out as much as possible. Researchers will compare the two methods in 30 adults over 40 with a history of smoking. The goal is to see if the simpler technique works just as well or better, which could make treatment easier for patients.
