Tongue-Tie study seeks to help newborns breastfeed longer
NCT ID NCT05946590
First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 28 times
Summary
This study looked at 100 full-term infants with tongue-tie to see if a simple procedure (frenotomy) helps them breastfeed longer. Researchers measured sucking strength before and after treatment and tracked breastfeeding for 6 months. The goal was to understand the link between tongue-tie, sucking ability, and how long mothers exclusively breastfeed.
