New study aims to help moms breastfeed longer and improve milk quality

NCT ID NCT06929091

Summary

This study is testing two ways to help mothers with higher weight meet their breastfeeding goals. Researchers are looking at whether following a healthy meal plan after birth and learning to express milk late in pregnancy can help mothers start breastfeeding sooner, breastfeed for longer, and improve the nutritional quality of their milk. The study will involve 240 pregnant women in Arkansas who have a higher body weight and want to breastfeed.
