Nerve surgery tested to bring back feeling after mastectomy
NCT ID NCT05757778
Summary
This study is testing a surgical technique called 'breast neurotization' to see if it can help restore nipple sensation for women who have had breast reconstruction with implants after a mastectomy. In this small trial, each participant serves as her own control: the nerve repair is done on one breast but not the other. The main goal is to measure and compare the return of feeling in both breasts over time.
