Massive 4-Million-Woman study tests new breast cancer screening ages

NCT ID NCT01081288

Summary

This large UK study is testing whether inviting women for breast cancer screening at younger (47-49) and older (71-79) ages saves more lives than the current program for ages 50-70. About 4 million women across England are participating, with half being offered the extra screening appointments. The trial will use national health records to compare breast cancer death rates between the two groups over time.
