New nerve block combo slashes opioid need in breast reduction

This study looked at whether adding a special nerve block near the breastbone to a standard chest wall block can lower the amount of strong painkillers (opioids) needed after breast reduction surgery. 90 women having the surgery were split into three groups: one got no nerve block, one got the standard block, and one got both blocks. The goal was to see if the extra block helps control pain better and reduces opioid use in the first 24 hours after surgery.
