New hope for smoother, more natural breast reconstruction

NCT ID NCT04343820

Summary

This study tested a new method for breast reconstruction after mastectomy. It involved placing an implant in front of the chest muscle and using the patient's own fat to prepare the area first. Researchers followed 60 women for two years to see if this approach reduced pain and complications while improving the look and feel of the reconstruction and the patient's quality of life.
