Breast reconstruction mesh trial tests patient comfort with random assignment

NCT ID NCT05449691

Summary

This study is testing whether patients and surgeons are comfortable with a random assignment to either biological (animal tissue) or synthetic (man-made) mesh during breast reconstruction after cancer surgery. The research involves 60 women who will be randomly assigned to receive one type of mesh and followed for 6 months. The goal is to prepare for a larger study that will compare long-term satisfaction, quality of life, and complications between the two mesh types.
