Study charts 'Roadmap' to speed up breast cancer reconstruction
NCT ID NCT07006662
Summary
This study aims to create a map of the small blood vessels in the chest wall that surgeons use for breast reconstruction after cancer surgery. Researchers will use a handheld ultrasound device to locate these vessels in 20 women with breast cancer and record their positions relative to easy-to-find body landmarks. The goal is to give surgeons a reliable guide to find these vessels more quickly during surgery, potentially improving efficiency and cosmetic results.
