Can a Mom's stress change her breast milk?
NCT ID NCT06393296
Summary
This Mayo Clinic study aims to understand how a mother's emotional state, sleep quality, and diet might influence two important substances in her breast milk: melatonin (related to sleep) and sIgA (an immune protein). Researchers are enrolling 120 new mothers to provide a small breast milk sample and answer questionnaires about their mood and lifestyle. The goal is to gather knowledge that could lead to better support for breastfeeding mothers and their babies' health.
